We are dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of the most complex hearing problems. Our staff includes Dr. John C. Bizal, who is the only fellowship trained Otologist (ear doctor) residing in the area, and a team of doctors who are certified by the most respected boards in their field. Here are some of the procedures we offer: · Stapedectomy - for people who suffer from otosclerosis, which is the immobilization of the stapes bone - causing slow hearing loss. With this procedure, we remove the non-functioning stapes bone and insert an artificial replacement. This revolutionary procedure is highly effective in correcting hearing loss. · Meniere's Disease - this results from excessive fluid in the inner ear, causing dizzy spells (vertigo), hearing loss, or tinnitus (ringing-in-the-ears). We always look at medical management first, but if surgical treatment is needed, we offer the most advanced procedures available, including endolymphatic sac surgery and labyrinthectomy. · Cholesteatoma - is a type of cyst located in the middle ear that commonly occurs as a complication of an ear infection. Prolonged inflammation may lead to chronic infection. Fortunately, we are trained and experienced in the surgical removal of the cholesteatoma, which can help prevent dizziness, persistent ear drainage, facial paralysis, spread of the cyst into the brain, or hearing loss. |
